^Lot 3326 Large Ohio Made Store Front Jug with Virginia Retailer Advertisement Dated 1896

This is an excellent example of a very large store front jug made by The Star Stoneware Company. The bee hive style jug stands approximately 25 1/2 inches tall and is 16 inches wide. The jug is off white in color with a large strap handle. In large cobalt blue letters on one side is "ANDREWS CHINA Co./CHINA,/GLASS/AND/QUEENSWARE./ROANOKE, VA./1896" and the makers marking "THE STAR/STONEWARE CO./star/CROOKSVILLE/O." in a shield.

Condition: Excellent with a couple of very minor tight lines and a small chip on the spout. All glaze and cobalt decoration is excellent. A magnificent very large piece of late 19th Century stoneware!
